This refractometer can work in the dark
Here there is what was missing among the aquarium accessories. And here’s the second product that can proudly be defined like that: a led refractometer. Amtra called it (we have to say, with a little effort of imagination) LED optical refractometer. Practically, as we already know, a refractometer has to be oriented towards a source of light in order to work. The new refractometer incorporates a led that allows the use with every lighting condition. Useful especially at night.
The refractometer is obviously ATC, that is with the automatic compensation of temperature.
Aquariums
Amtra thanks to the cooperation with Giacomo Guarraci of ITAU had many aquariums on show in its booth.
One of these contained the beautiful angelfishes that you can see in the pictures.
And we believe that there’s nothing better that showing your own aquariums all set up in order to make others see what it’s possible to obtain with your own devices.
And what you can see here above it’s a simple aquarium, even if it has very important dimensions. It’s decorated with water plants and beautiful angelfishes and it catches the eye with its simplicity.
Different dimensions, same designer, Giacomo, but the result doesn’t change even with this minimal Dutch aquarium.
And here’s another one, more interesting, asymmetrically set up, with a lot of free space for the swimming of fish.
This set up is simple but has a lot of punch, and also it makes the background of the aquarium stand out.
Another simple set up, that, enriched by the scenery, shows us a captivating aquarium in its linearity. It an aquarium easy to manage, but not less interesting for this.
PH and TDS indicators
Fresh on the market are also the new indicators of pH and TDS in a pen shape for a more practical use in aquarium.
Osmosis systems
I didn’t know that Amtra was distributing even osmosis systems. They’re simple cartridge systems, that every aquarist should incorporate in its own system. In fact, if we think about it, aquariums contain water, and if the water weren’t good would have many problems that in a short time would become unmanageable.
They’re complete systems, equipped with rinsing valve and anti silicate post filter.
AMTRA and the Aquascaping
We met Davide during the explosion of the aquascaping phenomena, and some other accessories that we’ve seen in the booth remind us his first love.
The set of tools with the travel box is objectively very beautiful. From my point of view of marine aquarist I don’t know how these tools can be useful, but they looks very good.
AMTRA skimmers
There were three different types of skimmer in the booth. The first one is an hang-on skimmer, in the following picture.
The second and more important, was a surface skimmer perfect for the remotion of that oily patina that it’s easy to form in many aquariums, especially where there’s little movement.
It is very interesting because it one of the few skimmer on the market for small aquariums.
AMTRA, thanks to it and a partnership with Macro Aqua, has brought on show a lot of the square skimmers that we saw at the CIPS in Shanghai and of which we’ve talked some month ago.
All the other products
