Prodac‘s presence at the Interzoo 2022 was very important to reaffirm the well-being of the company and its worldwide expansion.

Prodac had a booth of respectable sizes, as you will see in the video below. It had a new position at the exhibition: far from the doorway between two pavillions that was very uncomfortable for the continuous stream of people.
The booth was always full of visitors and meet Stefano Ara it wasn’t easy at all! From our point of views as marine aquarists we are so glad that Prodac is increasingly expanding its products towards marine aquatics! Among other things, Prodac invited us to visit their production plant, so stay tuned and we promise you that soon you’ll see some good ones about this italian company!

We liked the choice not to have paper catalogs but a useful QRCode on the products through which anyone could download the informations of the product. As we said in our Editorial about the Interzoo is something that many did and that we appreciated.
The biggest news revolved around feeds, Prodac‘s workhorse, but there were also supplements for marine aquariums, bioconditiones and bacteria. We’ll see everything in detail.
Prodac’s new products
Let’s start TartaFood, a mixed feed for adult tortoises with the addition of vegetable pellet that lowers the protein intake, which is around 26-27%.
Among feeds for cold water fish stands out Axolotl, a feed specifically designed for these animals, urodes and salamanders. They have the peculiarity to sink fast with a higher amount of fats than traditional feeds.
There was also Wafers Mix, a complete feed for bottom fish and shrips. The first thing that struck us, above its qualities, was that fact that the box is in biodegradable plastic. A concern for the envirnment that we really appreciated. Bravo Prodac!
A feed launched a few years ago that is having a lot of success is Prodac Red Parrot, designed for aquarium cichlids. A complete feed composed of 10% by Krill, added with vitamin A, C, D3 and E, astaxantina, Omega 3 and 6. The size of the grains is slightly smaller than the wafer of before, and it’s between 4 and 5 mm.
Not to mention the feeds dedicated to Arowana, red fish and other cichlids. An offer that covers every type of fish breedable in aquarium.
In addition to feeds, as we said, there was also the Aquasana line, that comprehends bioconditioners for freshwater and marine water. It’s necessary for eliminating and chloramines and chlorine of the tap water and cancels the effect of heavy metals. All the bioconditioners are enriched with Aloe Vera, which is a special natural colloid that prevents damages to the gills and the mucus covering them. Another reference product of Prodac‘s catalog is Nitridac, a special mix of 9 bacterial strains with a density of over 40 million bacteria per milliliter. It’s a high liquidal concentration non-toxic bacterial strain, selected for their attitude to digest organic materials and trasforming ammonia in aquariums. It’s used both in new or started freshwater and marine aquariums in order to transform the ammonia, which is highly toxic, in nitrites, and then these in nitrates.
And finally there were new supplements for marine world: there are 6 kinds of supplements, and each one is designed for a specific need of the marine aquarium, and they’re integrated with the special salt that Prodac has been producing and selling for years. Every mix helps to increase the quantity of that element in the aquarium:
- Marine KH Plus: specific products that increases the carbonate hardness, the KH, in acquarium;
- Reef Calcium: specific products for the increase of calcium;
- Reef Magnesium: specific products for the increase of magnesium;
- Marine Trace Elements: specific products for the increase of trace elements, whose concentration is so low that it wouldn’t make sense making a single product for each one of them;
- Reef Strontium: specific products for the increase of strontium;
- Reef Potassium: specific products for the increase of potassium.
