Seachem had a really nice booth and a lot of news for us marine aquarists, starting from dosing pumps and skimmers!
This article is also available in: italiano
Seachem‘s booth was pretty generous, it was in pavilion 4, near Sicce‘s (we talked about here), with whom they’re very close. We were welcomed by Nicole Stangl, sales manager and support of Seachem, that presented us all the news of this renowed brand from Madison (Atlanta).
The news of the booth, for what we could see, were essentially three: new skimmers, new modular dosing pump station, new Calcium reactor. All of them under AquaVitro‘s brand that characterize the high quality of Seachem‘s products.
Until yesterday, AquaVitro‘s products were sold exclusively in selected shops, so they could give quality service to their costumers, pre and post sales. But this choice also brought some problems too, as you can imagine. So, the new technologies, although they’re under AquaVitro‘s booth, they’re going to be sold online too.
Seachem-AquaVitro’s booth at the Interzoo 2022 in our video
Before you go on, we leave you to our video so that you can see the booth not only in picture. The video is about the whole exhibition, but by clicking on the link below you’ll be directly sent to the part about Seachem. The video is in Italian, but you may turn the English subs on! Enjoy!
Seachem AquaVitro Division skimmers
If you remember, we already saw them at the Zoomark 2019 (italian) when they were still in an embryonic phase. Now, we can discover them in their gorgeous white and cyan livery (or aquamarine?). The skimmers are three, respectively Division 125, Division 250 and Division 500, perfect for aquariums of 125, 250 and 500 gallon, or 475, 950 and 1900 liters.
They’re extremely accessorized skimmers that can accomplish more functions than just skimming. The glass, for example, is built with a useful handle that facilitates the extraction. But we are aware that the drain sink on the glass is only optional. What a pity.
A distinctive feature of the new Division is their double chamber colored muffler, to guarantee maximum quiteness.
Usually, Division skimmers are single-pump skimmers, but they are built so that you can add another pump for the water recycle. This clever news increases the filter capacity of these skimmers without having them replaced! They have also an outlet cheesecloth so they don’t release unsightly microbubbles that could also bother corals. But since it’s a cheescloth… I’d use some active carbon to maximize the advantages at zero costs.
The skimming pump alone works also as charge pump. It’s external to simplify the maintenance and it leaves inside more useful volume for the contact chamber.
The drain has a closure pin so that it can be parted and you can choose the right foaming. The skimmer can be reconfigured to occupy space differently and optimize space in any sump. We use a picture of Seachem‘s website so that you can see.
We are absolutely interested and we’d like to test them to see which level of air intake and water treatment they can achieve. For now, we really liked the adopted solutions.

Seachem AquaVitro Sentia Dose
Very colorful the new dosing pumps AquaVitro Sentia Dose! Practically speaking, the Sentia Dose system is made of a principal unity which you can connect to any number of dosing pumps. Every pump has a colored ring that differentiates it. A very intriguing system that meets the needs of any aquarist!
Every pump has also a practical modul to be attached to the wall to keep the pumps in position. If you prefer, the modul can also be used as base.
The pumps’ head can be completely rotated to meet any configuration.
Through the configuration app is possible to read the barcode of any Seachem product to use in aquarium so that you’ll have the pump already set on the right amount of product to dose.
Then there’s the Adaptive dosing modality which is intriguing. That is, you do a test of the water, then you insert the measured level and the desired ones; the app calculates how much product to dose and adjusts the product automatically; then it sets a reminder to redo the measure to refine the dosage accordingly. That is, without re-adjust the pumps.
The main unity costs 159 euro, the sides 99 euro each.
The new Element Ca Calcium Reactor
The presentation on the Calcium reactor surprised us, since the difficulty to provide coral sand… at least in Italy. It’s obvious that in America you could find it quite easily, or maybe they use Aragonite or pure Calcium carbonate. The Calcium reactor Element Ca has different and useful functions. The first is the possibility to remove the internal chamber to clean it easily without having to disassemble the reactor. This internal chamber has 1,2 liters of capacity.
The filter is equipped with CO2 recycle and the output can be conveyed inside one of the former Division skimmers, while the pump is placed on the external side of the reactor. Easy to run and completely disasseblable!
Even if in this case the reactor has a very aggressive price: 290 euro.
