The new Tunze Turbelle Nanostream 6020 pumps have just been presented some months ago during the Interzoo 2014 at Nuremberg and today we’re happy to have two of them here to test for you.
Sure the Nanostream 6020 was been one of the most interesting object from Interzoo 2014. These because, mainly, they’re extremely atypical pumps, in fact they’re been developed vertically and so we can have the choice to modulate the flow behind the live rocks.
The pump is quite tiny, more than the pictures show, the pump measures 65x60x72mm, small enough but the flow output is really good with 2.500 l/h for this Nanostream 6020 with fixed flow rate.
These pumps are designed with small tanks in mind, where they can be hidden behind the live rocks, and where they can create a gently flow, but for the bigger aquariums it’s the same thing… they can be used to recirculate the water behind rocks, that’s the way I’m using them now in my tank.

The new Nanostream 6020 with his 4 watt for 2.500 l/h has an efficiency of 625 litres for every watt. A great value, more than we are used to see.
For comparison, if we choose to see at the bigger Tunze Nanostream 6095, electronic, that has 9.500 l/h of output with 21 watt of power consumption, or 452 litres for every single watt, so, on plain paper, the Tunze Nanostream 6020 seems to be quite interesting.
Here we can see the pump with the usual blue rotor.
And here the rotor.
In the previous picture we can see the disassembled pump, with the directional dome at the left, the cover block for the rotor in the right, and the rotor near the body of the pump.
Here the pump held vertically, with the blue Silent Blocks to dampen the noise, and we are very sure that also with this pump Tunze has worked to maintain the noise at a very low level, as for their every other recirculating pumps.
The pump is sold with a magnet for thickness glass until 12 mm in Italy, and 15 mm in United States, and the price is 37,30 euro in Italy and 42,92 US Dollars in the United States.
In a couple of months we’ll be ready with our in depth review.
