Application on Mobile Devices
Once programmed with the wifi network settings, it will be immediately available to use on any mobile device. The following images have been “screenshotted” on an iPad, but the process is identical on iPhone or any other smartphone or tablet.
The introduction tab seen above shows the possible devices to program, set or play with, either Radion or VorTech.
Once entered the Radion menu, we find the above tab showing a central wheel-like cursor. We can drag it around using the touch screen to adjust the kelvin degrees to be displayed by our Radion/s. We can actually see any changes in real time, a feature out of a science fiction!
At the bottom of the screen there are three control mode buttons, Kelvin degrees, RGB channels or LED sliders.
In the above picture we can see the familiar wheel-like cursor, this time with the RGB colour range. This is probably less interesting for aquarists like us, used to think in terms of Kelvin degrees.
The last choice lets us adjust the single LED colours through different sliders and the general brightness. For every single slider meaning and in order to fully understand how to set your Radion, we suggest you read this article (only italian article for now)
From the mobile device application we can also enter the special features menu, to access the Thunderstorm simulation mode, a very eye-catching feature that I don’t particularly love to use in my set-up. The Cloud Cover is also impressing, and I often set it in my schedule for simulating passing clouds over the tank. The Demo simply runs a demo of Radion potentiality, and Disco Time… well, a cheesy feature that doesn’t really… make a hit 🙂
As mentioned before, Ecotech Marine ReefLink allows us to manage VorTech pumps as well. The picture above shows the dedicated tab on the app, where the VorTech can be managed in real time or programmed. We’ll examine this in depth on the EcoSmartLive for Mac or PC.
