The Slide&Led Italian light from CEAB is equipped with a sequence of LED modules at 30 watt each, called “superled“, assisted in their job by other classic blue led and ultraviolet ones at 5 watt. In questo link troverete la recensione in italiano.
CEAB is a well known reality in Italy, its headquarters are in Brescia, and my very first HQi light was one of theirs! CEAB has taken part in many important fairs of the last few years like Zoomark 2009, Zoomark 2011, Interzoo 2012, Zoomark 2013, Interzoo 2014 and Interzoo 2016, where we were also present with our reportages. Even with this important background the Slide&Leds are still not very well known.
This is a linear built light, with the led modules that can support different led types for intensity and colorimetric curve. Our Slide&Led was firstly equipped with 5 x 30 watt super led at 15.000 °K, three mixed led modules with one blue (430 nm) and one actinic blue (410 nm), and finally two blue-only modules with two 5 watt leds.
The white leds make up for 150 watt of the total, the 430 nm blue led for 40 watt and the 410 nm actinic for 10 watt, for a total of 200 watt.
The linear project of this light does not utilize fans for cooling but aluminum, resulting in an extremely silent light as it doesn’t have any moving parts.
The Glitter Lines effect created by the 30 watt superled is remarkable, and it is the first thing the catches our eyes when looking at a tank lighted by this lamp.
CEAB Slide&Led Technical Features
We have a modified Slide&Led SLX120MB, which we extended to 140 cm lenght. On the CEAB website the 120 cm light is suggested for tanks up to 120×80 cm, so in proportion our 140 cm should cover up to 140 cm of tank lenght.
• White: 5 white superled COD 15000 °K and 30w each for a total of 150 watt
• Blue: 4 x 430 nm blue led COB 5 watt each for a total of 20 watt
• UltraViolet: 1 x 410 led COB 5 watt.
Voltage: 17 V
Module lenght: 140 cm
Module width: 17 cm
Lumen: 13.000
The RRP price should be around 1800 € but we couldn’t find it anywhere for sale online. The price isn’t cheap but is in line with other good quality similar systems on the market like Vertex Illumina, Ecotech Marine Radion, Sicce and GNC.
Manufacture
CEAB Slide&Led is handcrafted in a simple way, with all its components easily found and disassembled, but you shouldn’t need to as it lacks any moving parts.
Even being handcrafted, you can see from the picture that the structure is very well built and of very good quality.
There are no lens, so we are assuming that the light is distributed at a 120° angle. We don’t think there would be the need of a smaller angle as the high intensity of the 30 watt should not be concentrated in a small area.
