One of the innovation that attracted us at CIPS 2017 was certainly the new customizable net cover by Red Sea.

One of the problem that mainly affects us is the fact that a few fish can jump outside the tank. This feature becomes limiting in our choice of the eventual guests we would like to see in our tanks.
That’s why Red Sea had a brilliant idea. Up to the present day the only way was to set up a plexiglass cover. But doing so the amount of light that should reach the corals was declining.
The customizable Aquarium Net Cover by Red Sea
Red Sea’s thought is to propose a nylon net, in a way that it is see-through and allows light transition. With an external frame made of aluminum plastic-coated.
The net, offered in a tube, can be shaped as we please with a cutter, and placed in a plastic frame that is assemblable and customizable. In fact we have an external perimeter, like this shown in the pictures, that can be connected through angular joints. In the perimeter itself are available a few spots of different sizes, in order to accommodate the support brackets , the feeders and any other object.
A very well designed net cover, in our opinion.
Nylon has a thickness of only 8 mm. The net is offered in different lengths:
- R42080 60×60 cm long;
- R42081 90×60 cm long;
- R42082 120×80 cm long;
- R42083 150×80 cm long;
- R42084 180×80 cm long;
We really liked this solution, and the price, abundantly under 100 dollars (different according to the measures, of course), makes it very attractive. Especially for its constructive care and its adaptability to every tank.
Above we can see a classic Red Sea aquarium with the net cover, still well lit by a couple of Hydra 26 HD.
