This system has been waited for a long time, because hanging the lamps to the ceiling is not always easy or possible. In effect, in the past, both the Ecotech Marine Radion and the Aqamai LRM, two almost similar shape ceiling lights, have been launched with their own mounting kit system.
The brackets, “mounting arm kit” as Orphek calls them, are obviously treated in order to be immune to rust. It’s a necessary aspect considered where they will have to be placed. They’re totally built in aluminum, and they’re enough firm to support the biggest Orphek ceiling light, that is the Atlantik V4 (article in italian).
The price is not so cheap, but in line for what other brands ask, like, for example, Ecotech Marine. We’re talking about 125 USD that, considering the actual quotation euro dollar and the taxes, should be more or less 125-130 euro. The price also includes shipping.
The hooking on the tankside suits a glass thickness between 10 and 19 mm, and the system is extremely easy to set, and enough versatile to allow almost any kind of placement, thanks to the hooking loops where the screws can slide.
The lamps can be suspended until 40 cm of height from the tank. You can assemble the brackets using the hardware already there, as you can see in the picture below.
Thanks to their versatility they can be also used with other brands’ lamps.
Orphek made also a video to better understand how the support arms work and how do they look once assembled.
