Pacific Sun presents what I have been waiting for years: an adaptor for taking photos in aquarium. From today, the photos in aquarium won’t be the same.

It’s a simple tube that has to be placed onto any lens, possibly a macro lens, that can be entirely submerged so that it can approach the animals closer and from above.
I like that I can come closer to the animals, being careful not to let the water enter the tube.
The adaptor is very well built and I didn’t found any problem. Actually, I have three lens for macro photography, as you can see from the picture. Two of them are for DSLR, that is a full-sensor reflex or a reduced sensor APSC, and the other one is for a micro 4/3. In this way I could figured out how it worked with all the lens.
Technical characteristics of the U-Look adaptor
- Length: 15,5 cm
- Diameter: 8,2 cm
- Price: 49 euro
As you can see the dimensions change with the lens, starting from the left we have the adaptor, then the Sigma 150mm macro, the Tamron 90 mm macro and finally the 30 mm Panasonic macro.
On the tube, you can see it, there are three plastic screws that anchors the lens so that you don’t run the risk that the U-look adaptor slides into the aquarium.
Panasonic 30 mm micro 43
Here above that’s how the block with the Panasonic micro 43 appears. The U-Look adaptor fits well even the Panasonic which is quite small, but you have to be careful to hook it up in the right way.
Tamron 90 mm macro
Here there’s another scale, and it’s visible. The camera is bigger then the joint of the adaptor. The lens is perfect and fits it very well. It doesn’t show any problems.
Sigma 150 macro
Here there’s a problem, because the lens is wider than the joint of the U-Look adaptor. The screws don’t tighten because the lens doesn’t enter enough. But even so the lens is usable, but you have to be very careful and maybe you won’t be able to come close to the corals.
The last week we was at PetsFestival 2019 (here our article about the fair in italian), and it was a great occasion to take a picture of some beautiful coral with this pretty new U-Look Adaptor. What do you think? Do you like the idea?
I think that for 49 euro you must have it!
