The external filter Oase Biomaster Thermo 600 is extremely easy to open and it’s sealed, because it’s going to be used placed on the floor or inside the forniture of the aquarium. Moreover, the sealing avoids that you get wet all over when you do the maintenance.
Let’s begin with the technical specifications declared.

How to trigger the filter
For triggering the filter you can use the useful pump system so you don’t have to use an external pump for the same job. The system is easy, it connects the filter with the pipes in the aquarium and then you push a couple of times on the pump system you can see in the picture. This system creates void and sucks water, and it’s very immediate now to trigger the syphon that, because of the gravity, will make the filter get filled. At this point it won’t be necessary anything else over connecting the filter to the electrical cable and it will start to work. In the first minutes you’ll hear it gurguling: it’s because the air inside has to be expelled. Beyond this, the filter is completely silent.
This filter is complete with any accessory you can imagine. For example, it has a generous heater of 300 watt, pre-filter sponges of 45 ppi, or again the 6 layers filter that in this configuration also has an orange sponge Biomaster of 30 ppi and 3 sponges biomaster blu of 20 ppi. In this way the filtration blocks increasingly small particles. There’s also the substrate for the bacteria made by two bags of Hel-X 13 Biomedia of 800 ml. In the end are included pipes, diffusers, connectors and any other accessory you need to keep it operating.
The modular construction, adopted for similar filters, helps in the placing of filtering materials that can be inserted and extracted easily, in particular when you have to do the maintenance. You switch off the filter, block the valves and take the filter in the bathroom, maybe in the shower. You open the side hooks and slide out the superior part. Now all the containers can be washed.
The filter is indicated, even if with different values, both for marine and fresh water aquariums. In the first case you can manage a simple aquarium without hard corals of at maximum of 150 liters, because for hard corals you better choose a skimmer. In the second case you can manage a fresh water aquarium until 600 litrers without any problem. The filtering material can be different, but these conditions are pretty universal.
In addiction to the filter that you can see above, the filter has also a practical unity of pre-filtering that in a standard routine can be cleaned at different times than the sponges of the filter itself.
The filter has a useful handle for the transport (that can be lowered until it desappears).
Let’s see on page two all the values we found and the comparison with what Oase declared.
